Content has rarely been as exclusive as in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. The new season starts, even though there are virtually no players left.
The last few months in gaming have not only produced many good games but also some flops. Especially, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has failed spectacularly. After a poor start, interest remained low and fell well short of expectations. Warner Bros. estimated the game with a loss of 200 million dollars – too much went wrong.
But it seems that the oven is not completely out yet. Because a new season is starting that is extremely exclusive. After all, there are hardly any active players left.
What is happening with Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League? The co-op shooter just launched its third season a few days ago, bringing some new content – including the new character Lawless, whom you see in the trailer above. There’s also a new map and a lot of cosmetic items, some of which are in the battle pass, but also available in the game’s shop.
This is quite curious because, looking at the Steam numbers, the game should already be considered clinically dead. In the past week, the highest number of concurrent players was 255 – on average, only about 170 people are currently playing the game. The total number of actually active players is likely in the low four-digit range – far too few to keep a game of this scale alive.
Or in other words: Those who are currently playing the game will likely experience some very exclusive game content that only a few hundred players will ever see. Simply because the mass interest is no longer there (and never was).
Why are the seasons still being released? It is hard to say why the release of the seasons is still ongoing despite the game’s apparent failure by all measurable standards. Presumably, these are simply contents that were produced in advance and are still “in the pipeline.” A fourth season also seems likely. So, for those who still want to stick with the game despite the lack of success of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, there will at least be new content provided for a few more months.
