During the G-Star event, the developers of ArcheAge gave an interview and showed a new trailer. There was an abundance of information about the upcoming ArcheAge 2. We at MeinMMO summarize it for you.
Where does the information come from? In South Korea, there is currently a very important event for the MMORPG community, G-Star. At this event, numerous, primarily Asian studios present new projects and provide information on already known projects.
Among others, Kakao Games and XLGames were invited to give insight into the future of ArcheAge. Specifically, it concerns ArcheAge 2 and ArcheAge War. There was not only a spectacular gameplay trailer.
What was announced? Specifically, the following points were addressed:
- New information about the gameplay of ArcheAge 2, which takes freedoms from its predecessor
- A clear distinction between ArcheAge 2 and ArcheAge War
- A release for consoles, which are not yet specified
What news was there? During this trailer, there was also an interview with the developers, primarily discussing the upcoming MMORPG ArcheAge 2. Many players will be pleased to know that the development of this game is fully focused on PC and console. Furthermore, there will be a lot of action.
To also satisfy the mobile front, there will be ArcheAge War. However, there was no further new information, except that it will be programmed with a focus on the mobile experience.
In this context, ArcheAge 2 is releasing a trailer where you see real in-game graphics based on Unreal Engine 5, showcasing some combat scenes and render sequences. The shown scenes reveal very little about the game.

The world will be twice as large as its predecessor
What are the most interesting pieces of information from the interview? Besides Unreal Engine 5 and the promised release for consoles, there were also more interesting details from the developers. One major point is the world of ArcheAge 2.
Kakao Games promises that it will be at least twice as large as the one you know from ArcheAge. Additionally, the world map is not only expected to be larger but also to be filled with more content and to feel generally denser.
Moreover, not only will the same universe be retained in the successor, but also the popular mechanics like housing and crafting will be present in the successor. According to the developers, they have learned from the past and will only keep what works well.
These systems will then be expanded and developed. Players in ArcheAge 2 will not only be able to build individual houses, but entire interconnected cities.
What are the features? Regarding the great freedom players currently have in ArcheAge, the developers mentioned that they will need to scale back a bit in the second part. There will be plenty of freedom and content available, but the number of different mechanics in the game will be reduced.
However, the systems that remain in the game will provide more depth than before, thus keeping players engaged for a longer time.
The stories will be smaller and more personal
What about the story? The story of ArcheAge 2 is supposed to be smaller, but rather in terms of scale. While in the first part, one aimed to prevent the destruction of the world and thematically revolved a lot around gods, the second part wants to change several things here.
The story is no longer intended to be told linearly. Fans can choose where in the world they want to start first and where to continue. The focus of the story will be on the individual journey of the players rather than the big picture.
When will ArcheAge 2 be released? The MMORPG is currently set to be released in 2024, but the exact date is still unclear. The developers aim for a simultaneous release on PC and the current consoles, although it is not specified which consoles are meant.
