On November 27, Season 5 of Stranger Things will finally premiere on Netflix. This will mark the end of the series that started in 2016. To appropriately maximize attention on the finale, Netflix is releasing not only new trailers but also information.
On YouTube, they have now released the first 5 minutes of the season, which actually show an event from the beginning of the series: Will in the Upside Down. However, as the clip shows, it seems that it was no accident that he ended up there.

Did Will not disappear accidentally in Season 1?
What do the first 5 minutes show? The series began in 2016 with Will suddenly disappearing on his way home, snatched by a Demogorgon and dragged into the Upside Down. The first 5 minutes of the new season show what he went through there.
The clip shows Will at the beginning trying to sleep in a hastily built wooden cabin. Suddenly, a Demogorgon appears and Will flees. He climbs up a tree, but falls down and loses consciousness. He wakes up in a cave full of Upside Down tentacles, but the Demogorgon does nothing to Will; it leaves him be. Then Vecna suddenly appears.
Vecna grabs Will and infects him with the Upside Down substance. He says to Will: You and I, we are going to do wonderful things together, William. Wonderful things.

What could this mean? As you already know from the previous seasons, Will is connected to the Upside Down. Previously, the heroes thought Will was possessed by the Mind Flayer, but it later turns out it was Vecna.
The clip shows that Vecna can also control the creatures of the Upside Down. This new clip and the monster’s words suggest that Will was not just randomly chosen but deliberately so. The Demogorgon in the first season killed other people in the town, but Will was abducted.
Even in the official trailer for Season 5, it seems Vecna still has a strong interest in Will, even though he could easily grab another child. In the trailer, he says: William, you will help me. One last time.
It is thus quite conceivable that Will, like Eleven, has special abilities, which is why the villain wants to use him.
What happens next in Season 5? Vecna is the last major villain of the series that the heroes must defeat to save themselves and their ruined town. One can assume that Will will also play a significant role in this. Moreover, the new season seems to recontextualize events from the entire series. Hardly anyone suffers in the series as much as Will, but it could have been worse: The end of a character in Stranger Things was supposed to be even nastier, but fortunately, they decided against it
