However, the event is now over, and Pokémon storage in the game is full. Many trainers are currently sorting out their monsters and sending them away. However, you should wait to do that. We will show you why.
That’s why you should send your monsters tomorrow
Tomorrow, July 20, 2021, there will be an hour-long spotlight hour for all trainers in Pokémon GO. This begins at 6:00 PM local time and lasts for one hour. In addition to a specific Pokémon that will be in the spotlight during this time, there is a special bonus for the players.
This week, trainers will enjoy double candy for sending Pokémon. Therefore, you should actively take advantage of this bonus tomorrow to send your Pokémon from the GO Fest. Especially with rare or legendary monsters, it is usually difficult to get a lot of candy.
How to prepare for the spotlight hour
Since the spotlight hour, as the name says, only takes place for one hour, you do not have much time to sort and send. You might also want to catch one or another Pokémon during this time. For this reason, you should prepare for the spotlight hour tomorrow.
We have put together various tips for you that will help you with sorting and save time.
Use the tag function
Sort your Pokémon now so that you can quickly send them tomorrow. You can use the tag function in the game. This has been available for some time and allows trainers to sort their Pokémon according to their own criteria. We will show you how to use it for this purpose.
To use this function, first go to your Pokémon storage. In the upper left corner, you will find the term “Tags”. Clicking this will open the tag menu.
Using the large “+” in the lower left corner, you can create a new tag. This could be called “send away” for example. After you have created this tag, you can sort and evaluate your Pokémon as usual.
Attention: Instead of sending away the sorted out monsters, you assign them your tag. You can do this either through the respective menu in Pokémon. There you will find “Tag” in the 4th position. Alternatively, you can mark your monsters as usual in the main view and then click on “Tag”.
Both ways will display all available tags. There, select the one you have created for this purpose. In the end, you can also view all sorted out monsters under the respective tag in the corresponding “Tags” menu.
To send the Pokémon tomorrow, you just need to go to your tag at the beginning of the spotlight hour and mark a monster by holding it down longer. Then, the option “Select All” will appear in the upper right corner. When you click this, all Pokémon in this folder are selected and can be sent via the corresponding button.
Make sure before sending that you are in the correct folder. Because once sent, you cannot retrieve monsters.
Use search filters
To sort and evaluate your Pokémon quickly, you should also use one or the other search parameter in the game. We will show you how to filter by strength quickly.
Depending on how strong a monster can be in the game, it is divided into 0 to 4 stars. Four stars correspond to an IV of 100%. With the filter “0*, 1*, 2*” you can narrow down your monsters accordingly. Only Pokémon with 2 stars or less will be displayed.
You can then complement this search parameter with further filters. For example, if you input “& Kapuno”, only Kapunos with a maximum of 2 stars will be displayed. By placing a “!” immediately before a search criterion, it will not be included in the search. If you write “!shiny”, no shinies will appear in the search results.
