After 18 years, there is finally a new King Kong game on Steam, but it looks so terrible that it is considered one of the worst games of the year.
What kind of game is this? Skull Island: Rise of Kong (PC/Console) is a new action-adventure developed by IguanaBee and released on October 17, 2023, for Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4/5, Xbox, and PC via Steam.
You take on the role of Kong, the gorilla living on Skull Island, which you control in a third-person perspective. Your goal is to avenge the death of KONG’s parents by his nemesis “Gaw” and to become the king of the island.
In doing so, you harness the devastating fighting power of the gorilla and bash your way through prehistoric beasts that faithfully serve your rival.
King Kong Game Faces Mockery
Why is it facing mockery? Although Skull Island: Rise of Kong is a new game that debuts in 2023, it looks visually similar to the game “Peter Jackson’s King Kong” released in 2005.
Many players mock the game on X, formerly Twitter, about its graphics, joking that Spider-Man 2 and Starfield have competition:

What is the Gollum comparison all about? In May 2023, “The Lord of the Rings: Gollum” was released, an action game from the German development studio Daedalic Entertainment, which also received harsh criticism.
Many players criticized the game as being broken and full of bugs. It was also said to be as ugly as the titular character.
