What’s going on with the internet right now? Currently, reports are increasing that there seem to be problems with the internet. It is said to affect not just one provider, as dozens of services are affected, including
- Steam
- Discord
- Microsoft Teams
- League of Legends
- DHL
And the list is significantly longer at this time (as of January 12, 2024, 10:00 AM). On Allestörungen.de, thousands of users are already reporting that they cannot connect to several services or are experiencing outages.
Where is the problem? Some suspect that there might be a larger disruption at DE-CIX, which stands for the German Commercial Internet Exchange. It is the largest internet node in the world and connects users, websites, and suppliers to the internet. In one case, for example, a disabled water cooling caused thousands of people to be unable to pay their bills.
