The “Police Bodycam” shooter Unrecord is currently causing a stir on Steam. Its ultra-realistic graphics impress many. A trailer reached 18 million users via Twitter. But the Twitch streamer Trainwreck has a moral problem with it. However, he is otherwise very lax with his responsibilities: He is the world’s largest casino streamer.
What kind of shooter is this? We already reported on “Unrecord” on MeinMMO in October 2022:
- A single developer, Alexandre “esankiy” Spindler, introduced his shooter on reddit at that time, which tells the story from the perspective of a body-mounted camera. Such bodycams are used by the US police: The cop film “End of Watch” with Jake Gyllenhaal celebrates this perspective, for example.
- At that time, only a 45-second video was shown, which still looked rough: The game is being developed in Unreal Engine 5.
- Meanwhile, the game has its own page on Steam; there is more gameplay: The game is rated 18+, but there is still no release date. A trailer from the developer on Twitter has now reached 70 million views.

Many are impressed by the graphics, even suspecting fraud
How are people reacting? Most are downright perplexed. They are primarily impressed by the extreme realism.
Some users express doubts about whether the finished game will look as good. It seems just too good to be true. Similar reservations have already existed against “The Day Before”.
The developer published a statement on Steam that the trailer shows actual gameplay: “Unrecord is (un)real – made with Unreal Engine.”
Twitch streamer believes the trailer is so realistic that it fuels the shooter debate
Who is now upset about the game? The Twitch streamer Trainwreck wrote on Twitter. He feels “uncomfortable” with the shooter.

I hope parents do their job. This level of realism in shooting and killing makes me uncomfortable.
Trainwreck says he feels like he’s watching footage of a real military operation when he sees the game’s images (via twitter).
These images give credibility to politicians who talk nonsense about video games turning young people into killers.
Why is it remarkable that Trainwreck says this? Trainwreck is the largest casino streamer on Twitch and has earned millions of dollars promoting a gambling casino where many of his viewers have lost a lot of money.
When he was pointed out in 2022, that the behavior is immoral, he deflected criticism onto himself by suggesting that the streamer Mizkif was involved in covering up a sexual assault.
To put it cautiously: Trainwreck has never been known for particularly responsible behavior.
