In mid-2023 it was announced, and now the release date is set: Final Fantasy XIV officially launches on Xbox consoles on March 21. MeinMMO has gathered all the information you need to know about it.
What kind of game is this? Final Fantasy XIV is an MMORPG developed by Square Enix. Here are the key points:
- Final Fantasy XIV was first released in 2010 and relaunched in 2013 with Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn.
- Since the relaunch, the game has been expanded with a total of four expansions: Heavensward, Stormblood, Shadowbringers, and Endwalker. The next expansion Dawntrail is scheduled for summer 2024.
- This game is what is known as a theme-park MMO. This means there are various ways to pass the time in it.
- In addition to the excellent main story, you can also expect raids in different team sizes, dungeons, boss fights, and PvP.
- Because of the level sync system, all content is consistently relevant across all levels. Therefore, while it is easier to find players for current content, you also don’t have to wait too long for older content.
Alongside heavyweights like World of Warcraft, Final Fantasy XIV is one of the best MMORPGs you can currently play.
On the one hand, it impresses with the many different and consistently relevant content forms. On the other hand, you can play it as a single-player experience even though it is a multiplayer game, if you are only interested in the story, for example. Additionally, especially new players benefit from the friendly and helpful community.
