Activision and Treyarch have announced the start date for the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Blackout Beta. In addition, there were some new details about the upcoming battle royale mode. We summarize the known information for you.

It was already known for some time that the Battle Royale mode Blackout of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will have its own beta. Now we also know when.
Black Ops 4 Blackout Beta – Start in September and first on PS4
What is Blackout? It is a dedicated battle royale mode of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. Blackout features various popular characters, weapons, and vehicles from the Black Ops series and allows players to fight for survival on a large map. The map itself partially consists of well-known Black Ops locations such as Nuketown.
When does it start? In a short teaser, Treyarch and Activision revealed the exact start date for the beta of the in-house battle royale mode of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. The Blackout Beta starts on September 10, 2018 – initially only on PS4.
Other platforms are expected to follow: It is likely that it will proceed similarly to the recently held Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Private Beta for the traditional multiplayer part. There, the first beta weekend was exclusively reserved for the PS4. A week later, the beta was also available for Xbox One and PC alongside the PS4.
Private or Open Beta? No details are available yet. In the previous multiplayer beta, only pre-order customers received guaranteed access on consoles. On PC, there was also an open beta for all interested parties. Whether this will also be the case for the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Blackout Beta remains to be seen.

The game modes: The teaser also revealed new details regarding the possible game modes in Blackout. It will be possible to compete in the modes Solos, Duos, and Quads, respectively alone, in pairs, or in a four-man team. The maximum number of players remains unknown.
By the way: If you have already participated in the recently held Private or Open Beta and are considering checking out the Blackout Beta – do not delete the previous beta client from your hard drive. This could save you a lot of time in the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Blackout Beta.
