Starfield launches in a few hours on Steam and the first reviews are already live. However, there are already some players who are worried about Starfield. A community patch is said to be planned.
Starfield will celebrate its early release in a few hours. The preload for Starfield has already started. But just a few hours before the release, some players fear that bugs and other issues could spoil the game for them.
For this reason, the first fan patch for Starfield has already been presented. This is despite the fact that Starfield has not even been released yet.
Players fear that Starfield could be plagued by bugs
Why are players worried? Bethesda games are not necessarily known for being bug-free, especially right at release. While Bethesda may consistently release excellent or at least very good games, none of them have been bug-free: Fallout 4 or Skyrim had numerous bugs. The same concerns apply to Starfield, that instead of fun gameplay, players might be dealing with bugs.
Why a community patch? Diligent players take care of fixing the annoying problems and then provide them as a community patch. The errors they want to fix include:
- Misplaced objects
- Script errors
- Inconsistencies in item properties
- Faulty missions/tasks
- Game-breaking exploits
- Missing attributes (like tags, header flags, etc.)
- Spelling/localization errors
Furthermore, additional content is reportedly not planned. The primary focus will be on fixing bugs that have made it into the game and need to disappear. Starfield is supposed to be a “paradise for modders”, so you can expect plenty of new content from other people.
Who is behind it? Behind the announced patch is the Nexusmods community, a well-known site for modifications for various games. The patch is being developed by 4 known figures from the community, two developers and two so-called modders. These individuals gained fame mainly through mods for Elder Scrolls and Fallout games.
