StarCraft Remastered is finally becoming a reality! Blizzard has now revealed what the old fun in new HD attire will cost.
No matter how you turn it, the original StarCraft from 1998 has aged significantly with its almost 20 years. Not only does the graphics look highly pixelated, but many systems can no longer run the classic game without installing additional programs.
That’s why Blizzard has decided (and because the game is still popular worldwide) to create a “remastered” version of StarCraft. Here, the graphics are polished, the pixel count increased, and generally the entire game is visually enhanced. The game feel or mechanics, however, remain unchanged – they want to keep the “timeless gameplay” intact.
StarCraft Remastered will be released on August 14
Now a release date has finally been announced. StarCraft Remastered can be played from August 14, 2017 – so in about 6 weeks. The price in Europe is €14.99. The game can already be pre-ordered in the Blizzard Store.
By the way: Don’t let the product description confuse you. It states that you need the StarCraft Anthology to play, but this is available for free download from Blizzard.
Pre-order Bonuses for StarCraft Remastered
Anyone who decides to purchase and pre-order before the release on August 14 will receive some bonuses. There are 3 exclusive skins for the main buildings of the species (Char Char Store, Korhal Command Center, and Aiur Nexus). Additionally, buyers will receive some upgrades in StarCraft 2: the Coop Commander Alexei Stukov and 3 portraits.
Will you buy StarCraft Remastered? Did you already play the classic version back then? Do you want to catch up on a bit of gaming history now? Or do you avoid the game because the gameplay is from the last millennium?
