The special thing about Marek is that he is the secret apprentice of Darth Vader, and that is also the central point of the story. Marek still has many fans today, mainly due to his powerful abilities and his battles.
It should also be mentioned that Galen Marek is not a character in the canon and mainly only appeared in the games. Nonetheless, he is a popular and exciting character.

The Secret Apprentice of Darth Vader
Galen Marek is the son of 2 Jedi who married against the doctrines of the Jedi Order and had a child. During Order 66, Darth Vader found the father and son and killed the father on the planet Kashyyyk.
Instead of killing Galen Marek as well, he took him in and taught him the dark side of the Force. However, he had to do this in secret because the Rule of Two
forbids the existence of two Sith. After his training, Marek was active as Starkiller
and killed Jedi and opponents of the Empire for Vader.
He defeated strong Jedi like Shaak Ti or Rahm Kota, or showed his power in battles against a Rancor or a Star Destroyer. In the finale of The Force Unleashed, he even defeated his master Darth Vader and was able to hold his own against the Emperor, but ultimately lost.

The Sith became really powerful in an alternative timeline where he killed Vader. In the Ultimate Sith Edition of the game, there are additional campaigns. There he defeats Boba Fett, Obi-Wan, and Luke Skywalker in battle.

No Character in the Canon
Where did Galen Marek appear? In addition to his first game, there was a sequel where you only play a clone of him, and in the fighting game Soul Calibur 4, he was also a playable guest character. In addition to video games, he also appeared in comics and books related to his games.
Will we ever see Galen Marek in the Canon? In the form that he operates in the games, we will probably never see him because he interferes quite a bit in the events of the Rebels. Additionally, he is quite powerful and could easily dominate many characters.
However, it is not impossible, as older concepts from books or comics have been adapted into newer series, and a limited version of Marek could also be possible.
