Players who want to play locally with friends on a shared screen will be able to do so in Star Wars Battlefront. Similar to the unofficial predecessor, the makers also rely on the split-screen mode here. Publisher EA recently drew attention to this game mode again with an image and a small Q&A session.
With the question “How will you play the coop mode in split screen? A or B?” “EA Star Wars” published a high-resolution in-game capture on Facebook that some may recognize from the last trailer.
Clearly visible: It will also be possible to switch between third-person and first-person perspectives in the split-screen mode. This way, Dice aims to appeal to multiple player types. They want to convince every player of the multiplayer shooter.
This offline game mode will be available in the “Missions”, which can be played either solo or in the coop variant. Dice imitates well-known backdrops from the film trilogy, highlighting the Star Wars experience. At least that is the stated goal. With bots and rather small, combat-focused maps, an authentically dense atmosphere is to be created.

Split-Screen Mode only for Consoles, runs at 30 FPS
A small downside is that the 2-player screen splitting will only be available on consoles, namely PS4 and Xbox One. PC players will unfortunately miss out, although the number of users who would use such a mode on this platform is likely to be lower. The Facebook account also addressed the frequently discussed FPS question among players. Unlike before, when it was constantly mentioned that there would be 60 FPS, the situation in split-screen mode is a bit different. Matching the split screen, the FPS will also be halved to 30. Whether this is enough to guarantee a consistently smooth gaming experience remains to be seen.
