The next major update for Star Trek Online finally has a release date. On April 12, 2016, Patch 11.5 titled “Temporal Front” will continue the ongoing story of the sci-fi game.
The leaders of the Federation, Klingons, and Romulans have gathered at a table to discuss the impacts of the Iconian Wars. However, during the peaceful gathering, an incident occurs: An attack from the future targets the envoys of the different factions. Players must now travel through time and space to the past to stop the Na’Kuhl from destroying the present.
In addition to continuing the story, many game systems that have previously caused dissatisfaction and confusion are also being refined. Patch 11.5 revamps the skill system, making it more accessible for newcomers and explaining more about the gameplay mechanics in each point. This aims to enable players to make more conscious decisions and to find the leveling process exciting and rewarding.
