The SF MMORPG Star Trek Online will be released on PS4 and Xbox One in autumn.
This comes as a surprise: Today, on May 12, Cryptic Entertainment and publisher Perfect World announced that they will bring Star Trek Online to consoles. It is expected to happen in autumn 2016.
Star Trek Online will provide content from 6 years of STO at launch, including 130 episodes, 11 seasons, two expansions, 32 species, and much more.
They also promise a “significant update” to the game engine and an improved gaming experience on consoles.
They say they have already gained experience with console ports of MMOs with Neverwinter, and now want to further develop the controls and adapt them for consoles in STO.
Star Trek Online is a free-to-play title. The next expansion for PC is also on the way.
