For the free-to-play science fiction MMO Star Trek Online, STO, the official trailer for the expansion Delta Rising has been released.
The Delta Quadrant, as every fan of the Voyager series knows, is not exactly an ideal vacation spot. Borgs are hanging around, the Kazon are causing trouble, and that strange killer species with the numbers in their name, which looks like a mix between Alien and Predator, keeps appearing. It’s no wonder that the trailer for the upcoming expansion of Star Trek Online is quite martial. Perhaps it shouldn’t be called “On Screen”, but rather “Load the Photon Torpedoes!”
The Class 6 ships will also be highlighted in Star Trek Online
Along with the trailer, a new blog post from the creators at Cryptic Studios was also released, intended to introduce the new ship Class 6. Cryptic is keeping the biggest secrets to themselves – nomen est omen. While it is revealed that there will be a new ship type and also a new kind of bridge officer, the guys are withholding details after making the reader curious. These will be revealed later.
New ships can also level up in Star Trek Online
It is known that the ships of the new Class 6 will scale their damage output with the rank of the captain. The ships can also level up in their own “level”. A ship starts at level “0” and later reaches level “5”, the mastery. Since such a ship can hardly develop new muscles, it is likely simulated that the crew becomes more familiar with the ship and the processes become smoother.
