The SF-MMORPG Star Trek Online announces its third expansion. With “Agents of Yesterday” it goes back to the times of Kirk, Spock and the others.
For the 50th anniversary of Star Trek, Cryptic Entertainment and Perfect World announce the 3rd expansion for Star Trek Online.
With the expansion, players will be able to create a captain from the era of “Starship Enterprise” and experience classic adventures in 2269. That is the year after the 3rd season of Starship Enterprise: TOS.
Walter Koenig will revive his role as Chekov. Chris Doohan will take on the role of his deceased father and voice Scotty.
There is supposed to be a new episodic storyline for all factions, a faction of the Temporal Resistance movement, a primary specialization for time agents, and much more.
In the coming weeks, they plan to further present the expansion. It is expected for summer 2016.
In recent years, the original Enterprise has experienced a renaissance. After a successful cinema reboot, a TV series is now planned to be aired weekly. The MMORPG Star Trek Online had, in recent months, possibly been working towards this storyline twist with a time travel story.
