A player explores Night City from Cyberpunk 2077, when he comes across a strange situation at a vending machine that many players have never discovered before – and it ends fatally for him.
What kind of opponent did the player encounter? In a clip on Reddit, the player shows that while navigating through Night City, he encountered a strange situation. Just before he was able to use a staircase at Corpo Plaza, he sees to his left how a vending machine, also known in the game as S.C.S.M (“Spontaneous Craving Satisfaction Machine”), knocks out a pedestrian with an electric shock.
When he looks closer, he himself falls victim to the machine. What exactly happened is not shown in the clip, but another player has already noticed this strange vending machine. In his clip, you can see what the machine is actually up to:
As the first player reports, the machine repeatedly spits out bundles of bills worth 100 Eurodollars each before ultimately killing him with an electric shock, just like the NPC before.
Here’s the trailer for the “City of Dreams” from Cyberpunk 2077, where even the vending machines are treacherous:
Players love the little things that bring the game to life
Where is this vending machine located? The treacherous vending machine is located in Corpo Plaza near a fast travel point. The player theycallmetheBESToat has provided a screenshot for this:

For those who know the location, you can slowly but surely farm with each bundle of Eurodollars with a strong health bar or appropriate cyberware.
How does the community react to the vending machine? Players are excited about the shown situation despite the cheeky trap.
“Surprises like this are the reason why I love strolling through the city,” writes Forward_Artist_6244 on Reddit, and starfruit_enjoyer finds: “There are so many little details like this all around the city. So many places, settings, and little scripted events – if you just wander around and observe, you discover something new every time. There’s so much to see in Night City” (via Reddit).
The player reddittomarcato has to credit the studio behind Cyberpunk 2077 for players still encountering new little details in the game years after its release: “I suspect that CDPR, just like with Witcher 3, added enough random encounters to fill years with discoveries” (via Reddit).
