The bottom of every list: the Imperial Agents
Also technically part of the Imperium, but still a distinct army: The Imperial Agents are a motley crew from various factions within the Imperium.
Accordingly, there is no information about the “agents” themselves, even though you can play them in the tabletop, complete with their own codex. Much of it is simply rules for reinforcements from other armies that the agents consist of.

They are still an interesting faction because if you want an insight into the Imperium that goes beyond Space Marines and Astra Militarum, you will find among the agents:
- Inquisitors, who sometimes hold the highest authority within the Imperium
- Members of the Officio Assassinorum, trained elite infiltrators with various powers
- the Adeptus Arbites, space judge-dreds and basically something like the imperial police with cyber-hounds
According to the Goonhammer website, which evaluates Warhammer tournaments to create statistics, the Imperial Agents are the least played army and have the lowest win rate. A hobbyist army, but one with interesting lore.
Because space marines and the imperial guard receive so much attention, the smaller factions in the Imperium are often just a footnote. The Imperial Agents seem to go against that.
