Dark Space Elves who must torment others to survive
If you are interested in the dark side of Warhammer but do not want to switch to the somewhat questionable Chaos right away, the Drukhari – formerly known as Dark Eldar – could be of interest to you.
Drukhari were once Aeldari, the species that ruled the galaxy for many millennia until they eventually became too caught up in their own pride. In search of ever more stimulation, the space elves eventually went overboard.
Their excesses eventually led to the Aeldari creating the Chaos God Slaanesh, who directly devoured the majority of the people. Since then, the Aeldari and the Drukhari have fled from the god, as their souls are offered to Slaanesh as soon as they die.
Aeldari protect themselves by imprisoning their souls in stones. Drukhari, on the other hand, have found a way to extend their lives by tormenting others. They live in Comorragh, a city in the webway, outside of realspace and the Warp. They only enter the real world to quickly capture prisoners, abduct them, and disappear again.
Unlike the Aeldari, many of whom now call themselves Asuryani, the Drukhari do not want to give up their hedonism. Their entire society is designed around every form of passion, but it usually means exquisite pain.
