When is the handheld officially expected to appear? The Steam Deck is officially expected to appear in February 2022. At least according to Valve, shipping is set to begin in February 2022. The date had previously been uncertain, as Valve had said little about the release or the Steam Deck since then. However, there is finally news from Valve – and it is positive.
This is what Valve says: The developer Valve states in an official post that the Steam Deck is still expected to be released as planned. The developers write:
We can stick to the shipping schedule for the Steam Deck. Despite the pandemic and supply issues, we expect to start shipping the devices by the end of February.

We have also shipped a high number of developer kits so that developers can test their games and receive the “Verified for Steam Deck” badge.
