What are the biggest points of criticism? Unlike the Slim variants of previous PlayStation consoles, the PS5 Slim does not look different from the base model. It has a cutout in the housing to accommodate the detachable drive and is slightly smaller than the original. But everything else is practically the same, which has led many to mock this “new look” with a barrage of jokes.

Many have particularly highlighted the horizontal support beam of the console, which is a tiny piece of plastic that you slide under the PS5 Slim to ensure it doesn’t tip over.
What else is causing annoyance? Some are also annoyed that Sony has secretly raised the price of the new PS5. In the USA, this is indeed the case, but in Germany, Sony already adjusted prices a few months ago. Therefore, we are not paying much more or less for the new models than we did before.
The idea of the drive is a cool idea, but most would buy a Digital Edition precisely for that reason, because they do not want a drive. The fewest users would come up with the idea of buying one afterwards.
Many players had high expectations
What can be concluded? Many gamers were hoping for a revolution or at least a significant upgrade. But exactly that has not happened.
In many comments, one can read that many would have preferred the idea of a real Slim version or a PS5 Pro. And preferably for the same price as the current console.
