What was shown? The Christmas season is approaching, and Sony has introduced a new PS5 model. The new PS5 will be smaller, slimmer, and offers additional new features:

Are there new prices for the PS5? No, the new models will remain at the old prices, as we currently know them from Sony. The following prices will apply starting November 2023 for the PS5 consoles:
- PS5 with Ultra HD Blu-ray drive: 549.99 Euros
- PS5 Digital Edition: 449.99 Euros
What happens after the release? The currently known PS5 models will disappear from the market as soon as they are sold out. The new models will replace the old devices.
Does the new PS5 Slim have more performance? No, performance remains unchanged. A combined processor with a graphics chip from AMD will still be used. The installed RAM will also remain at 16 GB, and other technical specifications remain identical. The theoretical graphics performance of 10.3 TFLOPS remains unchanged.
What new features are there? Sony addresses the biggest criticism of its PS5, as it offers the PS5 with an SSD with a total of 1 TB of storage. The PS5 was criticized for only providing 664 GB of storage compared to the Xbox Series X.

- The new PS5 Slim model is supposed to weigh only 3.2 kg and is therefore significantly lighter than all previous models.
