The developers of Baldur’s Gate 3 have put in a lot of effort to make the sex scenes in the game feel particularly authentic. But how can you make an intimate scene involving several tentacles feel especially “realistic”? A “behind the scenes” tweet from Larian Studios reveals that it can be done with Oreo cookies.
How was the sex scene recreated? In Baldur’s Gate 3, with the right dialogue options, it is possible to spend some romantic hours with the mind flayer.
However, unlike the other, more human romances, the mouth of the mind flayer is covered by tentacles. To still be able to touch the lips of our beloved, a developer thought about how the tentacles could be incorporated into the lovemaking.
For this, Senior Cinematic Artist Elodie Ceselli used a pack of Oreo cookies, which he lovingly stroked. Larian Studios shared a short video of the cookie stroking, which another user compared to the original scene:
