The action MOBA SMITE is getting a new goddess in patch 1.24 who could be called an absolute troll. Discordia has a dubious apple that repeatedly makes her opponents yell “I am the greatest!”.
Discordia will be a nuisance when you have to face her in SMITE! The Roman goddess is a mage and has an enchanted, golden apple. The fruit causes Discordia’s opponents to suddenly show a massive ego and feel the need to tell the whole world that they are the greatest!
Discordia herself is combative and pugnacious – she constantly compares her own strength with that of her team. The strongest team member is granted a strength buff by Discordia.

Discordia’s abilities bring a lot of crowd control. Her ultimate skill can incapacitate the entire enemy team, thus securing kills.
- Passive – Contest of Gods:
- Discordia constantly compares herself with her teammates to see who is the best. The god in her team who has dealt the most damage to enemy players receives a power buff that scales according to Discordia’s level.
- Uncontainable Magic:
- Discordia hurls a sphere of uncontainable magic to a target location. On her way, she deals damage to all enemies hit. At the target location, it splits into 6 smaller projectiles that fly in all directions, dealing damage to affected enemies and bouncing off walls. If the bouncing spheres hit enemies, they deal damage again.
- Disruption:
- Discordia creates an area of disruption that damages all enemies hit. If 2 or more enemy gods are hit, they are additionally hit with madness for 1s, causing them to attack each other and deal additional damage. The same applies to minions among themselves. If only one target of a type is hit, it becomes rooted for a short time.
- Restless Behavior:
- Discordia makes a short jump and creates an area of confusion for 5s upon landing. Within this area, she is stealthed and gains a movement speed bonus. The cooldowns of her 1st and 2nd abilities are additionally reduced for every 0.5s she spends in this area. Attacks from this area briefly reveal her.
- Ultimate – Golden Apple of Discord:
- Discordia throws her golden apple of discord. It penetrates minions, deals damage, and bounces off walls. If the apple hits an enemy god, it deals damage and forces the god to hold the apple. Gods holding the apple become unbearable, causing them to be crippled and intoxicated, while constantly boasting. At the end of the ability’s duration, the apple explodes, deals damage, and spreads the effects to nearby gods.
I am the greatest! No, I am the greatest!
Particularly annoying and funny at the same time is Discordia’s ultimate ability. SMITE features an automatic voice system – the VGS (Voice-Guided-System), through which you can quickly communicate with your team.
VGS is also great for boasting and cursing in a nice way. The god who must hold Discordia’s golden apple constantly starts spamming “I am the greatest!”. If the apple then hits other opponents, they start yelling “No, I am the greatest!”.
This might lead to some “rage-quits”.
