The card turn-based strategy game SMITE Tactics is now officially called Hand of the Gods: SMITE Tactics. The game has also received several new features since its beta launch four months ago.
SMITE Tactics is a colorful turn-based strategy game featuring Unreal 4 graphics, which is also an online card game like Hearthstone. It is set in the world of the MOBA SMITE, where various ancient gods and their servants battle for supremacy.
After four months in beta, the developers at Hi-Rez have now officially changed the name of the game.
Hand of the Gods: SMITE Tactics – New Gods and Gameplay Mechanics
The name SMITE Tactics was reportedly just a working title according to Hi-Rez. After four months in beta, they finally have an official name, and thus SMITE Tactics now shines as “Hand of the Gods.” However, “SMITE Tactics” remains as a subtitle so that no one wonders where the game has gone.
But the name isn’t the only thing that has changed in SMITE Tactics. Since the beta launch at the beginning of the year, several features have been added:
- In addition to the existing Greeks, Egyptians, and Vikings, the gods of ancient Romans and Chinese have been added to the game.
- There have been numerous new gods, servants, and equipment items.
- A significant addition is the Summoning Stones, which are now the end goal of each round. With the Summoning Stones, you can alternatively summon servants and, if necessary, your leader when they go down.
Especially the Summoning Stones make SMITE Tactics Hand of the Gods strategically deeper, as you no longer have to treat your leader like a raw egg and can use bolder tactics.
