SMITE is getting a new offshoot: the strategy card game SMITE Tactics.
One might think that HiRez would be fully occupied with SMITE and Paladins, but not at all. The game studio had secretly kept a new project in store, which is now slowly seeing the digital light of day. Under the name “SMITE Tactics”
The game is meant to be a mix of classic, turn-based strategy and collectible card game. Players can position their units on a game board, where they must use abilities and defeat the opponent. This is enhanced by game cards, which can trigger specific effects that influence a match in various ways.
As the name suggests, the main characters of SMITE Tactics are the well-known gods from the namesake MOBA. Thus, one can send Ymir and Thanatos into battle to finally decide which god is the strongest in the war of the pantheons.
The closed beta of SMITE Tactics is said to begin “by the end of the year.” Those interested can already register for the beta test on the official site.
