The next goddess in SMITE is wild. Because Artio likes to transform into a bear and maul her enemies!
Currently, the “Summer of SMITE” is happening again, featuring various skins and news. Much of it comes with the upcoming Patch 4.14, which also introduces the next goddess, Artio.
Artio comes from the Celtic pantheon and is a goddess of the wilderness. She is often depicted with a bear or even in the form of such an animal. In SMITE, she will be a magical tank who often changes between forms while being able to heal and deal considerable damage.
Let’s take a look at Artio’s abilities:
- Artio’s passive ability is Decompose. Whenever enemies are hit by an ability from Artio, their magical and physical protection is reduced by 3% for 4 seconds. This can stack up to 8 times.
- Instead of an ultimate ability, Artio can switch between her druid and bear form with Shapeshift. The passive effect of the ability makes Artio gain increased movement speed and MP5 for 4 seconds whenever she hits an enemy with one of her abilities. Stackable up to 8 times.
- Energy Surge deals damage to all enemies in a cone area in front of Artio and heals all nearby allies and herself by an amount that increases with each enemy hit.
- In bear form, this becomes Maul: Artio strikes in a cone area, damaging all affected enemies.
- Entangling Vines summons vines around Artio for several seconds. These cripple enemy heroes and reduce their physical and magical power by 25% as long as they remain in the effect.
- In bear form, this ability becomes Ferocious Roar. Artio gains protection for 4 seconds and stuns nearby enemies temporarily.
- A channeled spell in a straight line is Life Tap. As long as Artio channels the spell, she deals damage to all enemies in the target area, heals herself, and slows the enemies. If an enemy is hit by all 5 ticks, they are additionally rooted for one second.
- In bear form, Artio charges forward with Heavy Charge for 3 seconds, piercing through all enemies. Hit enemies take damage and are slowed for 2 seconds.
Sexy Skins for Summer in SMITE
In addition to Artio, Patch 4.14 will also bring a plethora of new skins. Among them are some hot summer skins, like SPF 666 for The Morrigan, and Midnight Dove for Awilix will also be very popular. For those who prefer craziness, there is Dr. Madlove for Cupid.
Artio is currently still on the test server. If everything goes well, she will be released with the rest of the content from Patch 4.14 by the middle of next week.
