The MOBA SMITE has announced a new game mode. “Clash” bridges the gap between Arena and Conquest.
The Best of Both Modes
The Free2Play MOBA SMITE is set to introduce a new game mode soon, aimed at uniting two previously opposing player groups. A large part of the player base enjoys the classic, tactical MOBA mode “Conquest”, while others prefer the fast-paced and often chaotic matches of Arena gameplay.
The bridge between these two game modes will be the brand-new “Clash” map. Although the objective remains the same, the annihilation of the enemy Titan, the two lanes are very close to each other, and there is a large open space (with a buff as an incentive), which is intended to provoke mass battles of 5 against 5 like in the Arena. The developers discuss the new map in a brief interview:
Another feature is that the towers on the map do not cover the entire lane, inviting exciting “Tower Dives”. Heroes in flight cannot feel secure even behind their tower. “Clash” will initially only be available on the test servers, and it may take several weeks before everything is refined enough to be transferred to the live version.
