Hera in Mythology
While other gods rule over the elements, Hera embodies the divine itself. In Greek mythology, she is the wife and sister of Zeus. She is regarded as the guardian of marriage and the home, with symbols including the peacock, the cow, and the pomegranate.
Zeus’ affairs trouble Hera: Jealous and with great envy, Hera observes her husband Zeus’s numerous affairs and flirtations. Typically, Hera expresses her displeasure through pouting and quarrels. She even pursues Zeus’s illegitimate children, not shying away from murder.
