In Skyforge the first invasion is coming: Phytonids, a species of man-eating killer plants, are on their way.
Anyone logging into Skyforge right now will see a big countdown on the global map. It is counting down mercilessly, and the invasion is set to start on Friday at 2:00 PM.
Some time ago, the details of what the invasions will entail were already presented. Currently, on Aelion, you can only see “remnants of past invasions” that have been repelled and are still active on the planet. An invasion, on the other hand, is supposed to be truly epic.
Do you remember what it was like when the flesh-eating giant plants attacked?
These are supposed to be multi-tiered events involving the entire server. The planet must defend itself against an alien race (in this case, the Phytonids) attacking and seeking to subjugate or digest it. If the event goes well, players can strike back in later event phases, take the battle to the Phytonids themselves, defeat the herald of the opposing god, essentially a mega final boss, and receive a bonus for the entire server upon successful completion.
If things go wrong, there will be a penalty – certain areas will be locked for a period of time.
This is all theoretical. Experiencing it live and in action could make for an exciting time in the still young Skyforge. Perhaps some of these “Do you remember what it was like when the first invasion came?” stories will come out, which many players long for when starting a new MMO.
