The developers of New World have released a new update for the MMORPG after all. There is now a new weapon that was probably supposed to be released later.

Are there still updates coming for New World? No, the developers of New World will soon leave Amazon Games, and the MMORPG will remain at its current state without any further updates.

Nevertheless, there has been another major patch. However, this simultaneously proves that New World has no future.

New update brings unfinished weapon

What kind of weapon is this? The developers of New World have now released a new weapon, the daggers. With the daggers, players can sneak around in stealth and fight enemies at high speed.

The daggers rely on combo points. Each hit builds combo points that can be used to perform abilities. Additionally, a higher number of points can further enhance the abilities.

The stealth talent tree makes you harder to detect and provides extra damage to surprised enemies and those affected by your roots or slows. As is common with stealth classes, there is also a damage bonus when you attack your enemies from behind.

Why is the weapon coming now? The developers of New World had been working on the weapon for some time. Now that New World is history and the next major update or expansion is not coming, the developers decided to release the new weapon anyway.

At the same time, they emphasize on NewWorld.com that the daggers are not yet perfectly developed and that there are still bugs and issues that will likely not be fixed. Nevertheless, the developers wanted players to be able to play with the new weapon.

The new daggers are likely the last major update for New World that the developers will release before their departure from Amazon Games Studios. If any further updates are unexpectedly released, they likely originated before the MMORPG’s end.

Although New World will no longer be developed, there is actually no reason to stop playing the MMORPG. The game is set to run at least until January 1, 2027, if not beyond.
