Jim Parsons will make an appearance as Sheldon Cooper in the spin-off series of The Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon. In an interview, he spoke about how he felt returning to the franchise.
Jim Parsons played the highly intelligent and nerdy Sheldon Cooper in the sitcom The Big Bang Theory.
The series ended in 2019 after 12 seasons. However, the iconic character received a spin-off with Young Sheldon, which highlighted the childhood of the genius, with Parsons serving as the narrator.
After the 7th season, however, Young Sheldon will also come to an end. For the grand, one-hour finale, Jim Parsons will slip back into his well-known role.
In an interview with TODAY on March 29, 2024, the actor spoke about how it felt to return to the well-known franchise after five years.

In response to the host’s question, the actor portraying Sheldon commented on his return: “Very strange. But also very nice“.
As Jim Parsons continued to explain, he won’t be the only one making an appearance in the finale of Young Sheldon. Mayim Bialik will also be seen once more as Amy Farrah Fowler. He emphasized how different the shooting situations were for the two series:
“The Big Bang Theory was always a show with a live audience, and Young Sheldon is a show with just one camera, and I got to film it with Mayim – we both played Sheldon and Amy from the series – and doing it in this situation was just different enough that it wasn’t creepy.“

Overall, Parsons expressed positive feelings and happiness about the opportunity to appear as Sheldon Cooper once more:
“Instead, it was really sweet. It felt like a nice little closure to the whole experience, and I was very grateful that they asked us to do it.“

When is season 7 of Young Sheldon coming out? The seventh and final season of the spin-off has been airing on CBS since February 15, 2024. The finale will be released on May 16, 2024, and will last a whole hour.
