If you don’t care about good graphics, you can easily gain an unfair advantage in ARC Raiders on PC without using real cheats.

As a player’s post on Reddit shows, the difference between the lowest and highest presets is quite large – at the lowest setting, entire grass areas, bushes, and even trees disappear.
Better visibility with poor graphics
What advantage can one gain in this way? Players might use the vegetation as cover. This works less well when parts of it simply disappear. Especially since ARC Raiders focuses on PvP, this can mean a real advantage over other players.
Those playing ARC Raiders on the lowest settings see other players more easily than someone playing on higher settings. While this is not a cheat in the traditional sense, as no external software is used and nothing in the game files is changed, it could still be problematic, say players.
“This difference and advantage is completly unacceptable in an extract shooter,” says Reddit user Jaz1140 in his post. He further explains: “To have rocks and cover disappear and the player can be seen behind them but not be shot, is so stupid.”
Players demand solutions while celebrating nice graphics
How could the issue be resolved? The poster of the post has a proposed solution. He says: “At the distance in this video [that is included in the post] where all bushes and foliage disappears, then player models should also disappear.”
Another user comments: “It bothers me that low quality settings don’t “reduce quality” of objects. They reduce the NUMBER of objects.” (Reddit) Another option would therefore be to keep the number of objects consistent across all settings.
How big is the problem? The Reddit post has over 2,600 upvotes, so it finds great resonance in this part of the community. However, many players also say they do not want to compromise on graphics to gain an advantage in the game. After all, the game is simply too beautiful.
