Setting up Nintendo Switch 2: How to do it easily in a few steps

Select the correct language.

Select the appropriate region. Usually, it should be Germany.

Click here on Continue. The documents are the license agreement.

Go to Internet settings, then select Wi-Fi and enter your details for your Wi-Fi. Alternatively, you can also use a LAN cable through the docking station.

The Switch will now automatically download its first update. You can click on ‘Continue’ and proceed with the setup, the update will be downloaded in the background.

Usually, you choose ‘Berlin (UTC +2)’ in Germany.

To do this, you need to remove the Joy-Cons from the Switch and plug them back in.

Note: You cannot perform the system transfer later, you must decide directly for or against it during setup.

All users, all save data, screenshots, and system settings will be transferred. The save data will be deleted from your old Switch, with exceptions!

The Switch 2 will perform its update as soon as it has been downloaded and will restart. After that, you can continue with the setup.

If you have an original Switch (Normal, Lite, or OLED), you can transfer your data to the Switch 2. For the transfer, you need a power supply for both Switch devices; a transfer is not possible without a power supply.
