Server down in The Division – The free Update 1.7 is coming today! [Update]

Today, on August 15, Update 1.7 goes live in The Division on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. At what time?

Update: At 6 PM, maintenance will take place again, lasting 30 minutes. Stability fixes will be applied. During this time, you can read all the important info on the new containers in The Division and here the info on the secret gear sets.

The wait is over. Today, on August 15, The Division receives Update 1.7, which has been extensively tested on the PTS on consoles and PC in the weeks prior.

Before 1.7 goes live, several hours of maintenance will take place:

• At 9:30 AM, the servers will be shut down. Maintenance begins.
• The expected downtime is 3 hours. You will be able to log back in around 12:30 PM, provided there are no issues.
• During the maintenance, Update 1.7 will be applied to all platforms. It is likely that the required files can be downloaded one or two hours before the maintenance ends. This was the case with previous updates.

How large the update will be is currently unknown to us. We will update the article shortly.

Update 10:30 AM: The download is now available. On PS4, this update carries the version number 1.15. It is approximately 7.7 GB in size.

What can we expect from Update 1.7?

On February 28, 2017, Update 1.6 was released together with the “Last Stand” DLC – since then, no new activities have been introduced in The Division. In mid-May, Update 1.6.1 was applied, but it only brought bug fixes and the loadout feature.

Now, half a year after Update 1.6, the first major content update in Year 2 of The Division comes. However, 1.7 does not introduce new game modes or a continuation of the story. Rather, Massive aims to enhance the existing activities, make them more varied, and give agents new motivation.

In addition, there will be:

• Global Events that will take place once a month for a week. These events will apply certain modifiers to PvE activities – allowing you to play The Division in a way you’ve never done before. The first Global Event starts today, on August 15.
• Classified Gear: To give agents something to hunt for again, classified armor pieces will be introduced. These will be the new “best armor pieces,” providing additional bonuses and increased stats.
• Commendations: These are specific objectives – similar to achievements – that you can unlock to earn rewards.
• There will also be a variety of new cosmetic items and loot boxes.
