Currently, there is an event in Pokémon GO with various monsters and bonuses. One of them is really strong if you have unlocked it.
What kind of event is this? On Monday, October 27, 2025, at 10:00 AM, the second part of the Halloween event 2025 in Pokémon GO started. It runs until Sunday, November 2, 2025, at 8:00 PM.
In addition to various Pokémon, some of which are also available in costumed variants, the event also brings a special GO Pass. And it has a bonus that you shouldn’t underestimate.
Send monsters, receive candy
What is this bonus? If you reach level 25 on the pass, you will receive a bonus on candies for monsters that you send to the professor. In the free version, you get double the amount of sending candies as well as double the chance for XL candies when sending.
In the paid Deluxe version, it’s three times the amount of candies and three times the chance for XL candies when sending.
A trainer on Reddit created a table where you can see exactly how high the chance of receiving XL candies when transferring is. This also depends on the level of the monster you are sending.
What does the table mean? If you have monsters that are at least level 26, then with the bonus of the GO Pass you have a 100% chance of receiving XL candies when sending to the professor. According to the trainer’s table, you will always receive 2 XL candies.
If you possess the Deluxe Pass, then only a monster level of 23 is enough to guarantee receiving XL candies. Here, you receive 3 instead of 2 XL candies.
If you have reached rank 40 on the pass, you should take the opportunity to send monsters for which you need XL candies. This can be especially worthwhile for legendary monsters that you haven’t sent yet.
How can I tell the level of a monster? In the game, you do not have a direct way to see the level of a monster. However, you can look at how much stardust it costs to level up and then tell what level your Pokémon is on.
A level-up in Pokémon GO always increases the level of a monster by 0.5 levels. The cost to raise a monster from level 26 to 26.5 is 4,000 stardust and 4 candies. Prior to that, the candy costs are 3 or, depending on the level, even lower.
If you have a monster and see that the candy costs of a level-up are 4 or more, then you know that the monster is already at least level 26 and can benefit from the bonus.
If you own the Deluxe version of the Pass, pay attention to the stardust costs. These start at level 23 with 3,500. If leveling up costs you at least 3,500 stardust, then you know that you are benefiting from the bonus.
