Alaina’s Bonnet
Your outfit doesn’t always have to sparkle or look particularly threatening. Sometimes a simple, straightforward look is enough – whether for participating in roleplay or simply to represent a more ordinary character.
Therefore, it can be worthwhile to have a large selection of more medieval, classic items – such as a snow-white hood. There are several of these in the game, but only one is as plain and simple as Alaina’s Bonnet. However, you can’t just get it like that; you have to solve a small puzzle that is quite well hidden.
How do you get Alaina’s Bonnet? To obtain Alaina’s Bonnet, you must play through the intro experience of Legion – i.e., the original battle at the Broken Shore. A character from the Alliance is required, and it cannot be a demon hunter. It’s best to create a new character from an allied race and start the timewalk with Chromie in Legion.
Do not skip any of the quest lines, so that you can soon accept “The Battle for the Broken Shore”.
During the scenario, go to coordinates 42 / 43. There you will find on an altar (next to summoners of the Eredar) a pile of ashes. Loot the item “Charred Medallion” from this ash and then complete the rest of the scenario.
Afterwards, travel to the Elwynn Forest to the lumber camp in the east. At coordinates 85 / 67, you can enter a house and meet Alaina. Talk to her and give her the medallion. Then leave (return to Stormwind or fly to Goldshire).
When you return to the house, you can go upstairs. In front of the bed is a small box from which you can loot Alaina’s Bonnet.
Alaina herself will lie lifeless on her bed – she has apparently died. Whether she died of a broken heart or through her own actions is unclear, and one of the rather dark mysteries of World of Warcraft.
