Barbarians are the top class in Diablo 4 and have many powerful builds. An expert takes on a secret OP-build that will soon be nerfed – and makes it even stronger.
This is what the build is about: We reported on the barbarian build that the community calls the “Frog Build”. Some say: It is approximately “the craziest build” seen this season. The build is based on one skill: the leap. With this, you hop around and stomp your enemies.
Diablo expert Rob2628 is known for his OP builds in Diablo 4. With one of them, he dealt over 1 trillion damage in Zir’s slaughterhouse and made Druids top-tier.
Now Rob tackles the frog build of the barbarian and presents his variant in his YouTube video.
The Spiritborn, which we have already tested, is also a lot of fun. It appears with Vessel of Hatred:
“How fast do you want to move? – Barbarian!”
How does the build work? In principle, you move across the map with your jump and stomp on enemies while doing so. It is important for this that the cooldown on the skill is as low as possible, so you can almost spam it. Specifically, this means:
- You focus everything on the skill “Leap”.
- Reduce the cooldown of leap as much as possible and push the ranks for the skill through skill points and gear. Rob recommends a cooldown that’s close to 4 seconds and around 14–15 ranks for the skill.
- Cooldown reduction on brawler skills through hardening, to which the leap belongs, is also useful here.
- To push the cooldown and skill ranks, use the crafting systems “Hardening” (imprints new affixes on items) and “Completion” (improves the affixes).
- The critical hit damage should be in the range of 5,000%.
- As a weapon, Rob uses the Uber Unique The Grandfather. The 2H sword increases your critical hit damage, your damage, and your maximum health.
- The coveted Harlequin’s Crown (“Shako”) is also helpful here, as it gives you additional ranks on your skills.
- The Uber Unique Tyrael’s Might is also a good option if you find the chest piece because: It unleashes a barrage and damages your enemies when you are at full health.
Rob says in the video that the build is “pretty cool” and is suitable for anyone who is somewhat bored with their whirlwind barbarian. “How fast do you want to move? – Barbarian!” Rob answers himself while jumping across the map with the barbarian. These are the skills used by the build:
- Leap: Jumps forward and slams down, dealing 32% damage to nearby enemies upon impact and knocking them back.
- Battle Shout: Lets out a powerful battle cry that increases your damage dealt by 15% for 8 seconds. The damage dealt by nearby allies is increased for 4 seconds.
- War Cry: Lets out a war cry that increases your movement speed by 50% and resource generation by 30% for 6 seconds. The movement speed and resource generation of nearby allies are increased for 3 seconds.
- Challenging Shout: Taunts nearby enemies and grants 40% damage reduction for 8 seconds.
- Iron Skin: Fortifies you and grants a barrier that absorbs 50% of your lost health for 5 seconds.
In October, the first expansion for Diablo 4, Vessel of Hatred, will be released, bringing the new class “Spiritborn” into the game.
