It 27s event time again in the pirate online game Sea of Thieves. With a new patch, you can now expect the “Sunken Curse”!
In Sea of Thieves, special events play a big role in presenting new content to players. Sunken Curse is one of several events this year. After the update 1.1.6 has been released, the event is now live.
Sunken Curse is live – Destroy cursed mermaid statues
Dive for cursed mermaid statues. With Sunken Curse, you face a new challenge:
- Sunken Curse Event – In the depths around the island coasts, you will find cursed mermaid statues that radiate ancient magic. The Bilge Rats challenge all brave pirates to seek out and destroy the statues. Keep in mind that not all statues are bound to the same curse. Furthermore, they regenerate over time. Gather a crew of four pirates to destroy these statues.
- Sunk Items – In the depths of the sea, you will also discover artifacts, skulls, and treasure chests hidden on the seabed that can be plundered.
New rewards. Through the event, you will also gain access to a range of new rewards:
- The Wailing Barnacle Items – In the Bilge Rat Shop, you will now find the hat, dress, and jacket of the Wailing Barnacle. These items are available for a limited time. You can only get them until July 25.
- Bilge Rats Titles – Receive three unique titles introduced with the “Sunken Curse” event.
- Bilge Rats Doubloons – There are 100 Bilge Rats Doubloons for the standard commendation, as well as an additional 50 Bilge Rats Doubloons when you receive the legendary commendation. You have until July 25 to earn Bilge Rat Doubloons.
- Bilge Rats Flag – A new flag has been added to the flag inventory of all pirates! With this, you show other pirates that you are on the hunt for Bilge Rat Doubloons.
Further changes. The patch also introduces additional changes to Sea of Thieves. These include:
- Bug fixes
- Performance improvements
- Tips during loading screens
- Improved pirate animations
- A revamped UI
