Surprisingly, the Sea of Thieves team has now announced another stress test. This is how you can participate in this beta.
This weekend, you can once again set sail in Sea of Thieves. Whether alone or with friends – a cheerful pirate adventure with gold coins and cannons is possible again in the coming days.
Please remember that this is once again a stress test. Such tests serve to push servers to their limits and collect important data. Therefore, there will be connectivity issues and disconnections.
Sea of Thieves: Beta Registration
Last weekend, starting February 16, the first scale test of Sea of Thieves already took place. Surprisingly, the developers have now stated that the second scale test is playable this weekend. And that basically starts right now.
From now on, you can participate in the Sea of Thieves stress test until Sunday, February 25, at 11:00 AM.
The good thing is: Anyone can participate. You just need to register in the Xbox Insider Hub. This software can be found by Windows 10 users and Xbox One users in the store.
Once you’ve downloaded the software on the respective platform, you can register there for the stress test and then download the game. Additionally, pre-orderers have access to the stress test.
During the last scale test, there were delays after registration in the Insider Hub. We hope it goes smoothly this time.

Expect Issues – You’re Helping the Developers
During such a stress test, problems sometimes occur. This is intentional, as the developers need to collect important data from the servers. Sometimes all players’ connections are interrupted to simulate what happens during a failure and how the login servers respond to that.
- Sessions may be interrupted
- At certain times, Sea of Thieves may not start
- Issues with shops in the game
The stress test also only offers a small preview of what will be found in the full release of Sea of Thieves later. Some features may be intentionally not tested yet.
What is Sea of Thieves About?
In Sea of Thieves, you can expect fun and exciting pirate adventures. You are with other players in a session. As pirates, you try to find treasures. There are treasure maps or puzzles that lead you to the various islands found in the vast sea of the game.
The trips to the islands are especially fun as a group. Assign your crew, as someone has to adjust the sail while other members read the map in the captain’s cabin or stand at the helm on deck, steering the ship in the right direction.
On the way there, you might encounter other pirates who want to steal your treasures. Fortunately, the ships are equipped with cannons so you can defend yourself against other players. Once you recover the treasure and bring it back to your home port, a reward awaits you.
