Sea of Thieves is increasingly becoming a highly interesting pirate online game, and with a new trailer, the developers present some of the new features.
Sea of Thieves puts you in the role of pirates who set out to uncover treasures and cause chaos on the seas. The online game is currently in a closed alpha, with approximately 1,000 players able to participate. During the testing phase, the developers are working on new content, which they recently showcased in a video.
New land in sight!
To give players something to do, the team expanded the game world with islands. On these, you can search for buried treasures, but you should expect that they are protected by dreadful skeletons. Okay, they aren’t that dreadful; they’re kind of cute, especially when they “die” and dramatically clutch at their non-existent throat before sinking into the ground.
Finding or stealing treasures
If you don’t want to deal with the undead, you can also try to steal treasure chests from other players’ camps. However, you should really make sure to have a quick escape route, because dropping from a rope bridge on a cliff onto your own ship is spectacular, but the newly introduced fall damage could quickly become your downfall.
To make it easier for you to quickly sell the stolen treasures before a hostile crew can take them back from you, the number of trading outposts has been increased. There, you can sell your loot.
The new areas are also interestingly designed with mysterious caves or shipwrecks along the shores of the islands. This creates an exciting atmosphere and makes you want to explore these places.
Sea of Thieves is set to be released later this year for Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs. There is currently no exact date yet.
