Sea of Thieves – beta key, registration, and preload
If you want to participate in the closed beta phase of Sea of Thieves, you must meet one of two requirements:
- You must have joined the Sea of Thieves insider program before December 1, 2017. This is no longer possible now.
- The other option is to pre-order the game.
- If you pre-ordered Sea of Thieves digitally, you will automatically receive beta access.
- If you pre-ordered Sea of Thieves through a retailer, you will need to redeem the code for the “Black Dog Cosmetic Pack” to have the beta appear in your game library.
The preload of Sea of Thieves should become available 24 hours before beta launch. The game client should automatically appear in your library at that time and allow you to start the download.
Beta content of Sea of Thieves
As the developers at Rare inform us, the beta phase of Sea of Thieves will not have the features and possibilities that exist in the full version. For the closed beta, a player experience has been created that should give you a good impression of the game, but still does not reveal everything.
In the following gameplay trailer from E3 (Summer 2017), you can already get a good impression of what gameplay awaits us soon.
So there will still be some surprises for you at the PC and Xbox One launch on March 20, 2018.
