Beta Ahoi! In a few days, the closed beta test of Sea of Thieves invites pirates to try it out.
Selected players will dive into a beta version of the pirate adventure Sea of Thieves as early as January. Players have previously been able to experience in alpha tests what to expect in the digital pirate life. The closed beta test is now the next step toward release.
Closed Beta of Sea of Thieves – Start and End
Players who registered in the Insider Program of Sea of Thieves before December 1st, or pre-ordered the game, can set sail on the open seas of the game in a few days.
The closed beta of Sea of Thieves starts on January 24 at 14:00 and lasts until January 28.
The special thing about this test is that the NDA clause does not come into effect. We can share our pirate adventures in the community and feed you with information.
However, during this test, we will not have access to all the features that the full version will offer. The developers want to create excitement for more and give an impression of what is possible. For this purpose, a “tailored gaming experience” has been crafted to give beta participants a feel for the pirate adventure.
For pre-orders:
- Those who pre-ordered the game through the Xbox or Windows Store will see the game in their game library 24 hours before the start of the closed beta. Then you will need to download and install the game.
- Those who pre-ordered Sea of Thieves at a retailer as a physical version must activate the code for the Black Dock Cosmetic Pack. Once activated, the game will appear in your library (24 hours before the start of the beta). You will then need to download and install the game.
The full release of the pirate adventure is on March 20, 2018, for Xbox One and Windows systems.
