At the start of the Sea of Thieves beta, there are issues. Players are receiving an error message that they are too early.
Today, on January 24th, the closed beta phase of the pirate adventure Sea of Thieves started. Players on PC and Xbox One should now ideally set sail in their ships and navigate the seas, but some are experiencing problems.
“You are too early!” – Players cannot access the beta
On Reddit and Twitter, many players have been complaining for several hours about not being able to access the Sea of Thieves test phase. Players who signed up for the Insider Program early or pre-ordered Sea of Thieves should actually have access to the beta. However, the launch is bumpy.
On PC, many players are receiving the error that they are too early to start the Sea of Thieves beta, even though the official launch has already happened. On Twitter, the development team announced that they are working on a solution to the error.
Update January 25 – A solution has been found. Those who pre-order Sea of Thieves in the next 24 hours should enable it on PC and Xbox One in the Insider HUB to avoid issues.
The error does not affect everyone
While some are standing in front of closed doors, others have already donned their eye patches and plunged into the open sea.
Why the “too early” error does not occur for all players is unclear. It is currently suspected that beta participants from the Insider Program do not have problems. Those who pre-ordered Sea of Thieves currently cannot get in. However, this is being investigated.
We hope that the developers can fix the error soon. Are you already part of the adventure, or is the error keeping you from playing?
