In Star Wars Battlefront 2 it takes quite a long time to collect enough credits for loot boxes and heroes. One player has therefore built a real robot that takes care of the grind but plays miserably!
When it became known that you have to grind about 4,000 hours in Star Wars Battlefront II to unlock all game content from the controversial loot boxes, many players took to the barricades! However, others probably went to their workbench and grabbed screwdrivers and soldering irons.
The result was a grind bot in real life!
The dumbest grind bot in the world!
The player and Reddit user Lowberg built an extremely simple robot that consists of a clamp, a wooden block, a few circuit boards, and two simple robotic arms. This “droid” is equipped with a random program that repeatedly makes it press various buttons on a PlayStation controller.
In this way, the bot somehow fumbles around the map and thus prevents a kick due to inactivity. Of course, the robot does not hit a barn door this way and almost runs aimlessly around the map until it hits a wall and then lovingly caresses it for the rest of the round.

Thanks to the strange loot rules in Battlefront 2, the bot doesn’t even have to play well! Because Battlefront 2 also gives about 200 credits to even the worst players on the losing team. So if you play often enough, you can quickly gather a pile of credits to buy the controversial loot boxes with upgrades.
So the bot has already earned quite a bit of loot for Lowberg. Since the bot is not a program, it is also not recognized by anti-cheat software. It’s just a really bad player. The reactions from other players are, however, mixed.
Players fluctuate between amusement and outrage
Some see the robot as a symbol against EA’s alleged plan to exploit a game as a backdrop for as many microtransactions as possible.
After all, the robot would do all the annoying grind during the day, allowing the player to have fun with their loot boxes in the evening. Additionally, some players find it funny that even a tremendously stupid robot, which only runs into walls and doesn’t shoot anyone, can farm masses of money in BF 2.
Other players do not necessarily see Lowberg’s action as cheating, but at least as anti-social behavior. After all, someone with such a dumb bot on their team is missing a player and will most likely always lose.
EA wanted to make Battlefront 2 like FIFA. And the fans hate it!
