Apple has unveiled its new iPhone 17. Samsung’s X account mocks the lack of innovation. However, the community does not find this funny at all and complains that such an action is really embarrassing.
What has Apple unveiled? At its last keynote on September 9, 2025, Apple introduced its next generation of iPhones. In addition to the iPhone 17, they also unveiled an ultra-thin Air model. However, especially the color selection for the iPhone 17 has previously confused fans.
Now the X account of Samsung has also taken the iPhone 17 to task. But fans in the community do not find this very funny.
Samsung account complains about lack of innovation and the weak camera
This is what Samsung did: The US X account of Samsung made several posts directly referencing the iPhone 17. For example, they said:
- “Let us know when it can be folded.” – With this, the account is likely referencing that Apple has not yet introduced a foldable model, unlike Samsung with its Fold series.
- “48 MP x 3 are not 200 MP.” – The Galaxy S25 Ultra, in comparison, features a camera with 200 megapixels (MP).
The fans are not thrilled: The reactions from the community are lukewarm.
The majority on Reddit finds this behavior “embarrassing” or “pathetic” and inappropriate for such a large company as Samsung.
As someone explained on Reddit: Samsung had previously mocked Apple, only to later benefit from Apple’s “innovations.” As an example, he cites the removal of the headphone jack:
Do you remember when headphone jacks were common and Samsung mocked Apple for removing them – only to do the same shortly afterwards?
The high price and weight of these models also often speak against a foldable smartphone. Many therefore do not understand why Samsung emphasizes the advantage of this so much and mocks Apple for having refrained from this useless feature so far.
In 2007, Steve Jobs first presented the iPhone to the public. What hardly anyone knew: The device did not work properly during the presentation and the developers had to come up with a plan
to ensure that the situation did not get exposed: In 2007, Steve Jobs introduced the first iPhone: The presentation became legendary, even though the device did not work properly
And others add that Samsung did the same with the charger: Shortly after Apple removed the charger from its iPhone’s packaging, Samsung also removed it from the packaging of its Galaxy models.
The sense of foldable phones, which Samsung emphasizes here, is also debated. According to NSysgroup.com, foldable phones are subject to more wear due to their construction, “which can lead to more frequent failures and, consequently, higher repair or replacement costs for consumers.”
