The American actor has been seen as a superhero in Marvel movies for 20 years. Many fans associate Ryan Reynolds with Deadpool, but before that, he was already seen in another role of the universe.
Which role is it? Ryan Reynolds has been seen in several superhero roles. For the DC universe, he was already on camera as Green Lantern. He became even more successful at Marvel as Deadpool, which has several films with him in the lead role.
However, around 20 years ago, the actor started his career at Marvel in a very different role. His first crossover with the superhero franchise was in Blade: Trinity. There he played the role of Hannibal King, a vampire.
But the film was such a huge flop that Reynolds started looking for other Marvel roles. In 2009, he was allowed to appear as Deadpool in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, but only in a supporting role. About 7 years later, the actor then got his first big film in the Marvel universe with Deadpool.

Blade: Trinity became a big flop
What is Blade: Trinity? The film was the grand conclusion of the Blade trilogy. However, the grand finale was by far the worst-rated film in the series:
- The trilogy started in 1998 with Blade. On IMDb, it still achieved a rating of 7.1/10 points.
- The sequel came in 2002 with Blade II. The film was rated slightly worse with 6.7/10 points on IMDb.
- The conclusion was Blade: Trinity in 2004. It only reached 5.8/10 points on IMDb.
On Rotten Tomatoes, the film even received a more damning verdict: Only 24% of all 167 expert reviews could recommend the film. Viewers are particularly troubled by the characters. There is no development, and the dialogues are mostly just dull one-liners.
What is Blade: Trinity about? Blade: Trinity is a superhero film by David S. Goyer. The war between humans and vampires, which has built up in the first two parts, continues here.
Protagonist Blade, played by Wesley Snipes, is framed for several murders by the leader of the vampires. He therefore teams up with renegade vampire hunters to save humanity from Dracula.
Blade: Trinity is considered one of the worst Marvel films of all time. One of the biggest problems the film faced was reportedly the relationship between Goyer and Snipes: The disastrous production of Blade: Trinity led to one of the worst Marvel films of all time
