Fans have been demanding a new installment of the immensely popular video game series Grand Theft Auto for years. Developer Rockstar has apparently had enough of being asked about GTA 6 and prohibits any mention on Twitch.
This is what GTA 6 is about: GTA 5, the latest and most successful installment in the series, was released in 2013. Since then, over 169 million copies have been sold. However, even though GTA 5 is still doing well, fans have been calling for a new installment for years.
The wait for GTA 6 has turned into a meme of its own. In February 2022, Rockstar finally confirmed that work is being done on the game. While there have been speculations and rumors for years, more and more leaks and insider reports are now emerging.
Rockstar apparently does not want to be asked about GTA 6
This is how Rockstar is responding: As noted by a Reddit user, Rockstar reportedly prohibits the mention of GTA 6 in the chat of the official RockstarGames-Twitch channel.
In the GTA 6 subreddit, a screenshot was shared showing the error messages that appear when trying to write the game title in the chat. Even the alternative spelling GTA VI does not get through the filter.
Instead, the message is displayed that the message cannot be posted due to conflicts with the channel’s moderation settings. However, GTA 5 seems to be allowed.
This is what fans are saying: According to initial reactions, they can understand Rockstar’s decision. Apparently, many fans themselves were annoyed by the “GTA 6” spam in everything that somehow comes from Rockstar.
