From now on, interested parties can download the battle royale shooter Ring of Elysium for free on Steam.
The shooter Ring of Elysium has been quiet for some time, but now it is supposed to move quickly. Starting today, September 19, the battle royale title can be downloaded on Steam. However, it is still not available for EU players.
Is the next battle royale hype coming now?
What is Ring of Elysium? Ring of Elysium was initially known as “Europe,” but then received a name change. As in other battle royale games, you also have to search for weapons and equipment and compete against 99 competitors. However, there is also a story component.
This is the story of RoE: A cold wave has hit the mountain region of Mt. Dione. Authorities have already evacuated the population, but 100 people are still stuck in the mountain resort. The weather has made it impossible to rescue everyone. Only one helicopter is still in action, and the players must do everything they can to secure one of the four seats in the chopper.
What are the other differences? In addition to the story, Ring of Elysium has several other differences compared to genre veterans PUBG and Fortnite:
- A dynamic weather system that can cause hypothermia
- avalanches that threaten different parts of the map
- Cover mechanics
- A special equipment system in which each suitable item is automatically assigned to the corresponding weapon
- Multiple mobility options such as paragliding, snowboarding, and mountaineering
- First or third-person view
- Since the helicopter has four seats, up to four players can win a match
In addition, there should be a whole range of other features, such as great performance, an “arcade game” playstyle, or a particularly clear user interface.
Note: Ring of Elysium is not yet available in the German Steam stores. Tencent states that they are also working on a EU version. However, a release date is not known yet.
